Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars
Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars are releasing ‘Radio Salone’, their third record next week, and going on a world tour later this year. The band was formed more than 10 years ago by a group of refugees displaced to Guinea during the civil war Sierra Leone. After their return to Freetown in 2004, their story was portrayed in the 2005 documentary film ‘Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars‘ and in 2006 they released their debut record ‘Living Like a Refugee’.
Now they are back. Listen to ‘Mother in Law’, the first single from the new album, below and read an interesting interview with lead vocalist and percussionist Black Nature here.
